Neon Indian Mixtape
Everyone and their mother (if theirs is a really cool, hipster-runoff-reading mother) knows about Neon Indian and his memorable 2009 debut album “Psychic Chasms”. While Alan Palomo, the Texas-by-way-of-Mexico native has no actual Indian or Neon heritage, he does have an interesting new mixtape floating around the internet, that was allegedly sourced from the bonus disc of his new album.
Here is a tracklist that someone else took the time and effort to put together (props for Yellow Magic Orchestra):
1. Liaisons Dangereuses – Etre Assis Ou Danset
2. Bill Nelson – Do you dream in Colour
3. Yellow Magic Orchestra – Focus
4. Neon Indian – Deadbeat Summer (Toro Y Moi remix)
5. Aviador Dro – Amor Industrial
6. ???
7. David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto – Bamboo Houses
8. Cocteau Twins – Pearly Dewdrops’ Drops
9. DAF – Liebe Auf Den Ersten Blick
10. Flesh – A split Second
11. Com Truise – Hyperlips
12. Lil B – I seen that Light
If you only have 4 minutes to spare, I would suggest taking a quick listen to my personal favorite track from the mix, a Cocteau Twins gem that was previously unknown to me.
Lastly, if you like what you’ve heard, go buy/support/whatever Neon Indian’s newest album, Era Extraña.
